With smaller print runs the costs of digital printing are much lower, for instance with business cards, large formats, banners, flags, promotional material. With bigger print runs on the other hand, offset printing will be cheaper. For some materials offset printing is required. Letterhead paper for instance; this has to be fed through a laser printer, the logo therefore needs to be heat-resistant. This can only be achieved with offset-printing.
